For almost a thousand years St Marys Church has played its part at the centre of the village of Bampton in Oxfordshire, and today it continues to be a vibrant influence within our local community as well as a beautiful centrepiece to the village. The future of the Church and its community depends on local support and h21sard work from a committed group of volunteers who ensure that St Marys remains a special place at the heart of our community.

Holy Communion will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10.30 a.m. in the Lady Chapel, St Mary's, Bampton. The Prayer Group meets on Thursday, at 6.00 p.m. at 20 The Lanes. For further information ring 01993 850576. Holy Communion will be celebrated on Friday at 10.30 a.m. in Kingsgate, Aston, followed by Communion in Rosebank, Bampton. Coffee & Co. This year the Women's World Day of Prayer is held at St Giles' Church, Standlake on Friday 5th March at 7.30 p.m. The speaker will be Dr Paula Clifford who leads Christian Aid's strategy on climate change. She should be well worth hearing on such an important subject. Murder & Mystery in the Village Hall ….. We need some super sleuths to solve the crime and share a fish & chip supper. The time is 1940s England, the victim well ….. you'd better come along and find out! Sharpen those little grey cells and join us for an evening of murder & mayhem! Tickets £10 each to include supper will be available soon from Suzy Robinson (01993 840342) & Helen Grimwade (01993 850984). Profits will be split 50/50 between the Bampton Zimbabwe Project and The Friends of Bampton C of E Primary School. Roof repairs - Phase 2 Current Work Work inside the church to the Nave ceiling will be completed during the next week, and the scaffolding moved to the interior of the Chancel. Church will remain closed except for during services. The Cremation plots along the east wall of the Chancel are also inaccessible for the time being and we apologise for any inconvenience or distress this may cause. |
